The looting of cultural heritage sites has been a growing problem and threatens national economies, social identity, destroys research potential, traumatizes communities. For many countries, the challenge in protecting is that there are often too few resources, particularly paid site guards, while can also be remote locations. Here, we develop new approach applies deep learning methods to detect presence at using optical imagery from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). We present results demonstrate accuracy, precision, recall our approach. Results show UAV data an easy way for authorities monitor sites, demonstrating utility aiding protection by automating detection any damage sites. discuss impact potential used as tool How could improved with discussed.
